The Emergence of W.E.D Records, The Beginning of A Musical Revolution

The musical taste of Nigerians has changed over the years and it is so unpredictable what content they are going to appreciate.
Leading the charge of revolutionising the music scene to give music lovers contents that are absolutely mature and dope is Malik Kareem and his Worldwide Entertainment dynasty.

This label is newly launched and some very impressively talented young artistes have been signed up and very soon, the sound from W.E.D will be dominating the airwaves.

Nigerians are one very entirely different set of people in every way. Even their musical taste cannot be predicted. It takes quite a lot of sagacity to master them and understand their nature.

For example, a DJ might enjoy his initial playlist for the fact that the vibe resonating from the audience is encouraging. That can change any time later when they want to dance to something traditional.

That is why dynamism has helped many artists like Davido, Wizkid, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, MI etc. They are all able to apply some flexibilities to their styles and manoeuvre their ways into whichever style is agreeable to their fans' hearing.

Gone are the days when music talents with any touch of the North gets automatic breakthrough and many from there led the Nigerian music scene for years.

Recently however, it's a different story as the dominant forces in the game now are sourced from the south. In fact, to be musically relevant, you need the south, especially Lagos.

Kaduna based W.E.D, an entertainment record label with a vision to change the narrative coming from up north musically and invade the south with their mouthwatering contents.

As an introduction, they will be dropping a brain shattering tune in the coming days titled "I Pray" from two of the talents in the family, 606 Highness and DCM.

How best to start a journey as thrilling as a revolution than with a prayer. "I Pray" is a small taste of what is to come.

"I Pray" by W.E.D's 606 Highness featuring DCM will be available on media platforms soon.
