Kamar Tachio: Biography of The Talent from Kaduna Setting The Standard for The Nigerian Music Industry

The Nigerian music industry is so dynamic that one cannot predict the twist it will take any time. However, anyone who has in one way or the other listened to Kamar Tachio's songs would see through his talents and saleability.
The singer who is of northern roots is having his fans multiplying in numbers and social media following going on a surprising increase, not because he is getting the right hype but because his songs are really so mouthwatering- can't be ignored.
In this article, we are taking you on a trip to have a glimpse of Kamar Tachio's biography. This became necessary as countless number of curious music lovers are asking questions about the KD boy, as he is fondly called by friends, who is getting many taken aback.
His full name is Simon Kamar Tachio. He is a multi-talented singer, rapper, songwriter and producer who hailed from Kaduna State, Nigeria. Not only does he posses the abilities of making good music, he can deliver his songs in the three dominant Nigerian languages.
He studied Statistics in the University of Abuja. During his undergraduate days, he met Darey Art Alade, under whom he learned a lot as he worked as a backup singer. No doubt, there exist elements of Dare's touches in Kamar's deliveries.
His professional music career got kicked off when he was 23 years old as he calmly took his time to learn, develop and identify his niche and the required strength he needs to input. This shaped him for the enviable professionalism he possesses that is now selling his craft to the world.
He is not just an artist who jumps on a beat and starts making noise, he paid his dues and learned the required rudiments and the true craft of making music. His ability to study his environment, assimilate and learn gave him the rare chance of being able to identify a niche that is proving to be a mouthwatering prospect for music lovers.
Listening to his songs, he is able to deliver beautifully a soulful rhythmic vibe like a Banki W in his prime. Also, coming to the Nigerian street taste of afropop, urban afro-highlife and RnB, Tachio is not found lacking here. In fact, he does this with nice sounds of the west and eastern region of the country like he is indigenous.
In his quest for musical breakthrough, he bravely challenged himself on one of Africa's biggest music talent TV reality shows, the MTN Project Fame, season four in 2011.
Coming up, the quality of his work as a music artist caught the attention of some of the biggest names in the industry which includes Darey, Ice Prince, Naeto C and DJ Jimmy Jatt to mention a few. His performance on DJ Jimmy Jatt's 'Farida' alongside Ice Prince and Skales got everyone talking.
Before being snapped up by All God Entertainments, Kamar Tachio was with Aristokrat Records, where he was credited with a 10-Tracks EP with the title “The Audition” in 2013.
Since his alignment with All G Entertainments, he has recorded a number of singles, some of which are ‘Lamba’, ‘Kowope’, 'Life Goes On', 'Chia’, 'Marry Juana’ and the latest hot one in town featuring Teni Makanaki, 'Dance Gan'.
Initially, 'Kowope' and 'Lamba' were his trendiest singles that gained most traction across radio stations.
After signing up for All God Records, the KD boy strove hard to fine tune his craft. In order to discover himself and make hard nosed study of the circumstances under which he's to work, he went on a sabbatical for a while.
That has since really  paid off after his return with the obvious success his songs are enjoying in massive airplay and social attention.
An EP titled, "Hajiya Toy Story" was earlier released and it contained hit songs like "Umbrella," "What’s on My Mind." This EP brought about attention being paid to Tachio as a talented vocalist, skillful songwriter and an artist with a commanding delivery.
The EP traveled nationwide as it's mouthwatering contents are beyond ignoring.
He later dropped a single dubbed 'Vibrations'. The song became another success which made his works to be a back to back kind of success. It received a lot of attention and recommendations among the public.
The wave that 'Dance Gan' pulled however surprised many except those who already knew him and the talent he possesses because Kamar Tachio has always been a musical ticking time bomb ready to explode any time.
It can be boldly said that the northern region has seen a dearth of real talents for quite a while now and Tachio no doubt ticks all the boxes required to dominate the music industry.
The way 'Dance Gan', which happens to be his 2020 debut song, hit the airwaves, sends a message that Kamar Tachio has come not only to stay but to give the north a formidable identity in the Nigerian music industry and make his name.
The song is not just lucky to have the right hype and PR, it actually is a song with a very hard-to-resist Afropop vibe that the internet and radio stations are filled with this new sound from a son from the north making an awesome wazobia music delivery.
The northern region states of Kaduna, Jos and FCT Abuja once led the country in producing the best music talents that dominated the playlists nationwide. Artistes like Aladin, 2face, Eldee, P-Square, Mode9 Terry Da Rapman, Jeremiah Gyang, MI and Ice Prince.
However lately, the dominance is held by the westerners who are dictating the direction of the Nigerian music. With the coming of Kamar Tachio aka the KD boy, the prolonged Western dominance is about to be challenged and leadership returning to the North is a possibility.
